Fri, May 5, 2006 - 3:36 PMThere will also be screenings of Drawing Restraint 9 daily (except Wed) from June 23-Sept 17 at the SFMOMA as part of the Drawing Restraint exhibition already mentioned in the other post so there should be plenty of opportunity to see it in the Bay Area if you don't make it to one of the theatrical releases. -

Fri, May 12, 2006 - 11:12 AMWell, both the DR9 website and IFC website show it is playing on May 26 in both DC and Boston but I would call around the IFC or Landmark theaters in those areas the week before. It was hard to figure out exact showtimes and venue for the SF screenings until a few days before. -

Sun, June 18, 2006 - 12:10 PMI saw it! It was very cool. Not as varied as some of the Cremaster series as there was just one central theme but it was rich in detail and flinching tension. Maybe 10 lines of dialogue in all. Interesting use of traditional Japanese rituals and visuals, and slightly political too. Definitely a spectacle worth seeing if you're a Matthew Barney fan. Even if you're not, you will be fascinated.
I can't wait to see him speak. I scored a ticket to his talk at the SFMOMA . . .
